Physio Coach Jake

About Jake

Rehabilitation is only the beginning.

My goal is not simply to get you back playing. It's to help you understand your body, build lasting confidence and become better prepared for the demands of football.

Meet Jake

Helping athletes bridge the gap between rehab and performance.

I'm Jake Sugarman, a physiotherapist and performance coach with a particular focus on female football, helping players recover from injury, build resilience and perform with confidence.

Growing up playing competitive sport, I experienced first-hand how frustrating injuries can be. That perspective shaped the way I approach physiotherapy today: focusing not only on recovery, but on helping athletes return stronger, more confident and better prepared for the demands of competition.

My work combines evidence-based physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, load management and athlete education to create a clear pathway from rehabilitation to long-term performance.

My philosophy

Rehabilitation and performance should never be separated.

Too often, players are treated as injured patients until pain settles, then expected to return as fully fit athletes. My approach closes that gap, building the strength, confidence and game-readiness to perform, not just to get back on the pitch.

The result is a structured system designed to help players stay healthy, train consistently and perform at their best.

“Seeing players reach their potential is what makes me feel fulfilled. I'm just as passionate about helping an aspiring junior break into the first team as I am supporting an NPL player returning from injury.”
